COLOMBO: The annual changing of personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) departed the island on 30 November 2021, the SLAF Media Unit said.
The 7th contingent of Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Unit of United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) comprising 20 Officers and 90 Airmen departed for Central Africa from the Bandaranaike International Airport.
Wing Commander Sampath Liyanarachchi leads the Contingent as the Contingent Commander. This contingent also includes a Lady Officer for the first time in the history of SLAF UN Deployments. This Lady Officer is one of the Medical Officers deployed with this Contingent.
