Sri Lanka and Pakistan to co-host Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka and Pakistan will co-host the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018, which commences on December 6, 2018. The tournament, which is organised by the Asian Cricket Council, will feature eight teams including four under-23 teams from Test nations and four top associate teams from Asia.

The teams participating in this 50-over tournament are Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sri Lanka will host the group ‘’A’’ matches, knockout stage matches and the finals of the tournament; while Pakistan will host the group ‘’B’’ matches.

The Group ‘A’ matches featuring Sri Lanka, India, Afghanistan, and Oman will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka, starting from December 7, 2018, whereas in Group ‘B’, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and UAE matches will be played in Karachi from December 6, 2018.

Sri Lanka’s first game will be at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on 7 December, when they will take on Oman.

The members of the Asian Cricket Council, which is headquartered in Colombo, are Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia , Singapore, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
