COLOMBO: Four Parliamentarians of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the All Ceylon Muslim Congress who previously supported the Government have now agreed to extend their support to the Opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
This was announced after a meeting in Colombo between Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and MPs H.M.M. Haris, M.S. Thaufiq and Faizal Kasim of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and MP Ishaq Rahuman of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress.
The four MPs who contested the last General Election under the SJB banner supported the government by voting in favour of the controversial 20A which conferred absolute power on the President.
