HANOI: Sri Lanka recently showcased its vibrant culinary heritage and rich artistic traditions at two prominent food festivals in Hanoi, captivating attendees with the island nation’s unique offerings. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vietnam participated in both the Hanoi Culinary Festival (November 28-30, 2024), organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ International Food Festival (December 7-8, 2024).
The Embassy’s presence at the Hanoi Culinary Festival offered an unparalleled experience for visitors to delve into Sri Lanka’s rich flavors, as skilled chefs expertly demonstrated the preparation of kottu, the island’s renowned street food. Complementing this, a spread of traditional sweets delighted the senses, while guests were also treated to sips of authentic Ceylon tea.
At these bustling events, the Sri Lankan booths offered a sensory feast, featuring live demonstrations of kottu preparation, a beloved street food dish. Visitors sampled this savory specialty alongside an assortment of traditional Sri Lankan sweets and the renowned Ceylon tea. Promotional materials highlighting the island’s tourism opportunities were also available, enticing attendees to explore Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and cultural attractions.
