Promoting Sri Lankan heritage and handicrafts in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, December 2019: The Sri Lanka Embassy in Kuwait participated at the “International Handicraft Exhibition” organised by the Kuwait International Fair (KIF) from 18 to 20 December 2019, at its grounds.

Traditional art, handicrafts, handloom and batik products were displayed at the Sri Lankan stall. Promotional Tea packets provided by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and tourism promotional brochures sent by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau, were distributed among the visitors, numbering over 1200, during the three-day event. Sri Lankan tea was also served to all the participants, raising awareness of Sri Lanka’s rich tea culture and history of Ceylon Tea.

Government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives from relevant international and local organizations graced the opening ceremony. KIF is a Kuwaiti government institution responsible for organising trade fairs and exhibitions and a member of  the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
