India Offers 200 Fully-Funded Scholarships to Sri Lankan Students for 2025-2026

COLOMBO: The High Commission of India in Sri Lanka has announced an exciting opportunity for Sri Lankan students, offering 200 fully-funded scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic session. These scholarships, funded by the Government of India, aim to support Sri Lankan nationals in pursuing higher education across a wide range of disciplines at renowned Indian institutions.

The scholarships are available under four distinct schemes, each catering to different academic levels and fields of study. The Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme covers undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs in fields such as Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities, and Arts. The Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme focuses on Master’s degrees, with a preference for Engineering, Science, and Agriculture. For those interested in Information Technology, the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme offers undergraduate courses leading to Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology degrees. Additionally, the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme supports undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD studies in diverse domains, including Engineering, Science, Business, and Humanities.

The scholarships provide comprehensive financial support, covering full tuition fees, a monthly sustenance allowance, and an annual grant for books and stationery. Selected candidates will also receive airfare to India, an annual grant for educational tours, and access to hostel facilities within their respective campuses.

The selection process for these prestigious awards will be conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka. Merit-based candidates will be chosen, ensuring that the most deserving students benefit from this initiative.
