Sri Lankans in UAE give a fond farewell for Chathura and Sumedha

DUBAI, July 2019: The Sri Lankan Business Council (SLBC) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates recently hosted a reception to bid farewell to Chathura Weerasekara, Head of Chancery, Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai & Northern Emirates at the end of his diplomatic stint in the UAE and to Sumedha Dharmasena, a senior member of the Sri Lankan expatriate community and a pioneer and dynamo of Lanka Lions, who will be leaving the shores of the UAE, having been a resident for four decades.

After prominent community members led by HE Charitha Yattogoda, Consul General of Sri Lanka for Dubai & Northern Emirates paid glowing tributes to the services and support extended by Chathura and Sumedha to the Sri Lankan community in the UAE, the evening of friendship at Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre hotel was dominated by good-natured banter, delicious food, live music and merriment.
